New Orleans Real Estate by Eric

Stagers are everywhere on Active Rain, but none in New Orleans!!!!!

I have never met a stager in person. I read their blogs all the time on Active Rain. What makes a good market for stagers. If it was little competition then we would have one. Are people too cheap here to pay the fees? Are the returns on doing this worthwhile? Do stagers wilt in high humidity? Do the homes have to be expensive? I do not know the answers but it seems like one could make it in New Orleans.

Sounds like you should consider a second career!  You have a wide open market, and Staging is hot!  Have you looked into any Staging courses?  Check out www.stagedhomes.com and see if there are any courses coming up in your area... You may find it's something you'd like to add to your list of Value-added services :)

You guys have been through a tough time there in New Orleans... Are things substantially built back up after Katrina?  Is the property cheap there, or on a rebound?  There are a lot of people here and in Orlando that fled after Katrina and live here now.

I remember a blog a while back on the schools churning out stagers, yet consistent work for them is hard.  Most Realtors as well as John Q Seller have not accepted the benefits of staging.  Faster sale, higher price, buyers are better able to visualize with furniture place properly to enhance the properties value, size and layout.  I think this is extremely important with vacant properties.  The cost to the seller is minimal compared to having a house sit on the market.  Just my thoughts.  Nice post.

Laurie, Those two live far away. I had a client asked about one today for his unit. I would say since no one knows then are all on equal footing. I know it works but none are here. eric
