I talk to a lot of people and one thing I know is that the water bills where I live are cheap. Water cost us about $20 per month and we get billed $40 something every other month. Its something we never think about as the Mississippi has plenty of water. With gas today at $3.09 people are interested in utilities and such more and more. One good thing is that heating bills tend to be small since heaters are only used about 20 days per year.

Do you remember all the homes you sold, Of course we do! Wild Animals!
Clients always ask me if they remember us when you sold us your house. Of course I most always do. Many time we nickname a house that we have sold. This was the Wild Animal house of me. The seller had well over a 100 stuffed wild game throphies that his family had in its collection. People could not get past the Oh! before looking at the home. The fella built this 40x30 room as his game room, Used some odd wood from Brazil and had his pals decorating the walls. Many were bagged by his grandfather. There were llions, tigers and rhinos. I could not help taking the photos as I know it was a once in a lifetime shot. Anyone have a similiar memory.

Price of Wheat soaring? Prices of homes declining? State of Mind!
The price of wheat has tripled in the last couple of months. We will all be seeing it in food prices as they increase. Look to pay more for bread, pizza, and crackers. Milk and corn products are already up there and expected to go higher. At the same time home prices are down. People will not be getting raises to off the increase. What does this have to do with housing?
It will begin to worry people and begin to set a frame of mind. It will change peoples outlook towards buying more. It will also mean the demand for American Agriculture products will attract world wide demand since the dollar is so cheap. Lets hope that Congress does not pass a bread bill, let demand work its way through the system.
I started an new group several weeks ago about Condos! Join Up!
Condos, What you need to know? A lot of us do sell condos and has become a speciality of mine since Katrina visited New Orleans and Insurance has gone through the roof. This has not happened to condos to the same degree. Its a subject that all of us have written about so I decided to start the group so looking for new members to join and add blogs about condos. Historic Conversions are my favorite. I have even started a blog that deal with just this subject. New Orleans Condo Trends, lets exchange ideas.
Life of a blogger? Most do not last very long. Just wondering!
I am beginning another blog about real estate and have been reviewing other realtor blogs. One think that struck me is how many realtors start and do not keep it up. Its much like having a site, many agents do not go past putting their names on the site. I find blogging so much easier working on a static website. I see so many that haven't updated their blog in a month. Is it that agents do not believe that blogs will work? I do not know how long that I can keep up with a blog every ther day but that is my goal for several months. Lots of ideas, its just putting them down. I even wrote a couple on Mardi Gras day. What happens to the blogs that go to the grave yards of blogging. New Orleans Condo Trends
What if we had to buy American goods with the Rebates from Congress!
Pistol Pete Maravich of LSU, One of the best college players I have seen!
This blog has nothing to do about real estate. Pistol Pete Maravich was at LSU the same time that I was. Went to most of the games during that time span. Check out this video of Pistol. This kid was focused on basketball and was well ahead of his time. He averaged over 44 points per game without a three point shot or a dunk. His team mates were just average Joes and he only had eight of them. Blacks were not allowed to play in the south in those days. I used to see him at the Tiger Bar a lot sitting in the first booth having a beer.
I remember one game where he had 69 points at Alabama and the Alabama fans were pulling for him to hit 50 points. LSU lost the game but everyone got a show.
"In his three years on the varsity team at LSU, Maravich scored 3,667 points in 83 game-an average of 44.2 points per game, and the all-time National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) record. He set 11 NCAA and 34 Southeastern Conference basketball records, as well as every LSU record in points scored, scoring average, field goals attempted and made, and free throws attempted and made. Maravich still holds many of these records, more than 35 years later.
One other item of note, those 3,667 points don't factor in the 741 he scored his freshman year or the fact that they played without a three-point line in Maravich's era."
